Roots of Birth:

Changing prenatal education for the better

There is so much about birth and early parenthood that most people don’t really tell you:

  • How to advocate for yourself in the unexpected moments

  • Which hands-on comfort techniques actually help during contractions

  • How to prepare for postpartum so you don’t end up doing everything on your own

  • What newborn sleep and feeding really looks like

It’s not that you lack strength or intuition. It’s that most parents are missing support, context, and tools that help them feel confident and ready.

Roots of Birth is a complete prenatal education workshop taught over one weekend, designed for first time parents to teach you:

  • Evidence-based birth education that is clear, honest, and digestible

  • Practical comfort techniques you’ll actually use in labour

  • Self-advocacy tools to make aligned decisions, and

  • Realistic newborn care guidance that reduces overwhelm

All within a warm, supportive group atmosphere so you don’t have to figure this out alone

What You’ll Learn

1. How Birth Works

  • What your body is doing through the stages of labour, how to know what phase you’re in, and how to work with your body for a smoother delivery.

  • All the ways your partner can support you throughout each stage of labour

2. Your Options

  • Induction, pain relief, monitoring, Cesarean birth, assisted birth — explained clearly and neutrally.

  • Information and strategies for advocacy within the medical system and how choose what feels right when the time comes.

3. The First Hours & Days With Baby

  • What to expect right after birth, newborn procedures, and your baby in their first days.

  • Postpartum recovery, and how to support your healing  physically and emotionally.

4. Newborn Care You Can Feel Confident In

  • Feeding basics for breastfeeding / chestfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and formula.

  • Soothing cues, sleep rhythms, and what’s truly normal.

This is not a sit-and-listen class.

You’ll practice:

  • Labour comfort techniques

  • Partner support skills

  • Positions that help labour progress

  • Breathing + relaxation tools

  • Postpartum care strategies
