Our Topics:

Module 1 = The science of labour and stages of labour; What to expect from natural childbirth

Module 2 = Medical technologies of birth (including induction of labour, pain management, monitoring, and risk management); Birth planning and advocacy

Module 3 = Medical technologies of birth (including Cesarean, assisted delivery, and emergency situations); Mental preparation for birth by breaking the Fear / Tension / Pain cycle

Module 4 = Hands on practice with comfort tools for labour and positions; Counter pressure practice; Pushing positions

Module 5 = Newborn procedures immediately post birth; Postpartum healing; The first days with a newborn

Module 6 = What to expect from your newborn; Infant sleep; Infant feeding, including breastfeeding / body feeding, pumping, formula feeding, bottles, and combinations feeding; Hands on practice with diaper changes, swaddling, and burping

For Weekend Intensives:

  • Saturdays are 10 am - 5 pm

  • Sundays are 10 am - 2 pm

  • One hour of lunch break is provided each day, as well as small breaks throughout

  • Food and drink is not provided
